AN Australian wine producer has achieved global recognition after winning the ‘fortified wine of the year’ award at the highly competitive International Wine Challenge (IWC) 2014.
Morris Old Premium Rare Liqueur Tokay from Morris of Rutherglen won the award after achieving gold in stages one and two of the competition, which is renowned for being one of the world’s finest and most meticulously-judged wine shows.
Morris of Rutherglen is one of Australia’s most highly-awarded wine producers.
Chief winemaker David Morris, who was named runner-up for the coveted ‘fortified winemaker of the year’ award, was in attendance at the IWC Awards Dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London to collect the award.
