HOW could you describe your wine to a Chinese consumer?

Are new consumers more interested in varieties or regions and what does this mean to you?

These are the types of questions to be explored at the Grape and Wine Research and Development Corporation’s (GWRDC) next China Insights workshop series.

The latest insights on Chinese consumer wine preferences will tour as a workshop series throughout three wine regions, including the Barossa, McLaren Vale and Mornington Peninsula, in April and May this year.

Presenters include Professor Larry Lockshin, Dr Armando Corsi and Dr Justin Cohen from the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science who will present the latest research on Chinese consumer wine preferences and translate this research into practical advice and tools to benefit wine businesses.

“One of our key 2013-14 goals in our Consumer Insights program was to examine Chinese consumer perceptions and how Chinese consumers describe sensory preferences,” GWRDC executive director Dr Stuart Thomson said.

“The overarching theme of all our workshops is to connect research to business, and these workshops will equip attendees with the essential knowledge needed to improve their business with Chinese consumers.”
