THE annual New Zealand Wine fair events take on a new look for 2014 with the introduction of RegioNZ by the Glass to Melbourne and the New Zealand Wine Selection to Brisbane and Perth.

More than 30 wineries from New Zealand’s renowned wine producing regions will showcase their portfolio across the four events beginning in Melbourne on 24 February.

New to the Melbourne and Sydney trade sessions, an Alluring Aromatics seminar will highlight New Zealand’s eclectic aromatic offerings from Riesling to Chenin Blanc, Arneis to Albariño.

On tasting throughout the day, the seminars are highly anticipated by those keen to source new and interesting wines for their wine lists and business.

2014 has also seen the introduction of the New Zealand Wine Showcase to Perth – the first time a New Zealand Winegrowers (NZW) roadshow has featured in Western Australia since 2010.

“Perth is a growing market for New Zealand wine in Australia and is a great fit with its developing and educated wine market that is excited about food, wine and lifestyle”, NZW Australia manager Natalie Corkery said.

“The refreshed program really enables the regional diversity of New Zealand wine to shine.

“The events are a great platform to show not only the developments within regions, but also prove New Zealand isn’t a one-trick pony when it comes to wine.

“The 2013 vintage has produced wines of exceptional quality across all varietals and this is the first time we’ll be presenting them as a group to this market.”
